Another legal challenge to state facilitation of Kohler golf course

I noted the other day that opponents of a proposed high-end golf course along the Lake Michigan shoreline in a 247-acre nature preserve

recently annexed to the City of Sheboygan were ramping up their fund-raising, organizing and legal strategizing:

The grassroots organization Friends of the Black River Forest - - having exercised its right to have the Wisconsin DNR defend its decision before a judge to grant developers a key permit to fill wetlands in a nature preserve so a major Walker donor can to build a golf course on a wooded bluff rather suddenly annexed -  hey,a new map! - - to the City of Sheboygan - - is holding a fundraiser next Sunday
April 15, from 2-5 at Paradigm Coffee and Music, we will kick off a major fundraising campaign with a goal of $300,000. We will have speakers, entertainers, and online opportunities for giving and sharing our campaign. Please mark your calendars to help with our spectacular launch! Donate here. Poster. But wait: there's more - - and more reason get involved in this very important public policy battle - - because a new lawsuit has been filed which challenges a land swap proposed by the DNR and approved by its advisory board that would give to give the golf course development acreage, rights and vehicle access within Kohler Andrae State Park.
The environmental group Friends of the Black River Forest (FBRF) is bringing the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to court, again.
In a suit filed at the Sheboygan County Circuit Court on April 2, FBRF is alleging that the DNR "made errors of procedure, law, fact, and discretion" when it approved a public land exchange with Kohler Co. for the proposed golf course.
David is preparing for the fight with Goliath.

Stay tuned.
