With Foxconn looming, Mount Pleasant had a meltdown

[Update from 9/5 - - Mt. Pleasant board censures its President, who apologized for his repulsive treatment of a citizen speaking on the Foxconn issue.]

While the GOP-led Wisconsin Legislature is showering more public favors on Foxconn, the ironically-named Racine County Village of Mount Pleasant appears to be anything but pleasant as it gears up for the Foxconn arrival Scott Walker has conjured.

Read this account of last week's Village of Mount Pleasant's municipal meltdown.
Tensions at village meeting leads to complaint
And there's audio.

Also: still unable to hire a Village administrator, the Village board decided to hire a $20,000-a-month manager to oversee Foxconn development.

No wonder tensions are rising there.

And there is a lot to be worried about.

Goodness. De Groot was over the top. He sounds like a petty dictator. With public meetings you get what you get. You can limit time but to tell someone they can't speak at a public meeting is not appropriate.
